MANAGING DISCIPLINE AND POOR PERFORMANCE
11/10/2018, 09:30 to 12:30

Come along to a free informal session on Managing Discipline and Poor Performance, where we will discuss the importance of consistently managing discipline and poor performance, having a good disciplinary policy which complies with the ACAS code of practice on discipline and grievance and not making the policy contractual.

Make sure that you understand how to hold an investigation, a disciplinary hearing and an appeal hearing, who should conduct them, and know when suspension may be appropriate. Also, understand the right to be accompanied at a disciplinary hearing, and the right to appeal against a decision.

We need to appropriately manage poor performance and understand whether it is due to something the employee can do better, or it is because of incapability, and proceed to manage the situation accordingly.
